"I don't look at a book as a whole bunch of words. I look at it as someone's thinking, and the information the author wants me to know" High School student
I like reading fantasy stories and books like The Hobbit and Game of Thrones for example because it's like stepping into another world with completely different places and creatures, and the situations that happen are all things that we can relate too but in the same way is completely different.

I will admit, I do not read books often, but I read magazines a lot. I find it extremely difficult to find a good book. I find most boring and can't get myself to focus. One book that I did enjoy reading is a romance novel, The Fault In Our Stars, and I have also heard that If I Stay, another romance novel, is very good so I am planning to read that soon. I also tend to enjoy books that can actually make me laugh. Also, I very much enjoyed reading The Neverending Story in grade 9 academic english.

I enjoy reading magazines more than novels. I always find myself getting bored of novels, but I could read magazines for hours on end.

I do not read often, but when I do, I enjoy Fictional Adventure novels that have a gripping plot, and interesting characters. It may sound cliché, however my favorite novels are from the Lord of the Rings trilogy written by J.R.R. Tolkien. Although they are lengthy, they provide the reader with a seemingly endless adventure full of action, mystery and betrayal. The trilogy is a perfect pick for young readers who are interested in emerging themselves into a world of detailed lore.

I really like historical fiction. I love fictional stories that still have a mature point of view. Books that deal with real world issues such as life in third world countries and that have political aspects too; it makes the historical part more authentic.

I like reading non-fiction books. I find the genre, non-fiction, is educational, interesting and more practical for everyday life. Some books I enjoy are by the authors Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins

Novels that revolve around the mythology of roman and greeks gods. The series "The Heroes of Olympus" by Rock Riordan blends the two worlds of roman and greek gods giving plenty of knowledge about mythology, alongside action and drama.

Although reading is not one of my preferred pastimes, I have had the opportunity to study a great deal of literary pieces over my years of attending school. I have discovered that I enjoy reading novels containing adventure, which can sometimes be complimented well by a dose of mystery. The reason why I enjoy reading novels that involve adventure, is solely due to the fact that they keep me engaged and they are relatively easy to relate to. If I were assigned the task of choosing my favourite novel out of the many that I have read, I would have to pick The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. The Hobbit is a perfect example regarding my choice of novel due to its adventure filled plot riddled with mystery.

I thoroughly enjoy nonfiction novels, specifically ones focused on scientific discoveries or Canadian history. I like knowing that the stories that I am becoming absorbed in actually happened at one point in time. I find it much harder to really get into and enjoy the plots of fiction novels, due to the fact that the entire time I am reading the novel, I am aware that it is fictitious.

I enjoy reading any kind of fiction with an intriguing plot that I can relate to in any way whether personally or otherwise. For example, my favourite author recently has been John Green because I agree with many of his opinions and ideas about life and the world we live in which I have noticed appear in his novels. Similarly, I like historical fiction because I can relate it to the real world and learn about important past events while enjoying the fictional characters and story.

I like to read fiction adventure/romance novels, such as the novel series; Divergent and The Hunger Games. I like to read books where I feel that I can relate to the characters because of their closeness to my age. I also like novels that are unexpected, having many plot twists, because they are more intriguing and harder to put down.

My favorite type of book to read would be one full of adventure and mystery. I like to try and solve the mystery before it has been resolved in the novel.

I love reading books that are really different from the world we live in, like fantasy books or adventure books. I think books are better when they take your mind to another world, its kind of like an escape from real life.
